A precast concrete bollard is a heavy block or post set on the surface or a shallow pad. It’s a good fit for plazas, patios and utility equipment, and most are quoted rather than listed with specs online.

## Canadian precasters

| Precaster | Where | What they list | Specs online |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Sanderson Concrete | Langley Twp, BC | Precast bollards, parking curbs, truck wheel stops, bike-lane barriers, site furniture; “projects across Canada and North America” | Bollards: quote only |
| AE Concrete Products | Langley Twp and Agassiz, BC | Precast concrete bollards, including a BC Hydro protection post | Quote only |
| NorthWest Precast | Britannia No. 502, SK | Precast bollards, jersey barriers, curbs, sign bases; own delivery fleet | Quote only; says its products are CSA approved but names no standard |

## Concrete or steel?

Precast is heavy and needs no core drilling, so it suits a finished plaza or a lease where you can’t dig. A concrete-filled [steel bollard](https://safetybollards.ca/steel-bollards) in a footing takes far less room for the protection it gives, and a crash rating only comes with a tested system. > Precast pieces weigh hundreds of kilograms to tonnes, so delivery needs a truck with a crane or a forklift on site. The quote says which.
